NuHealth's General Gynecology practice is focused on safeguarding the health and well-being of women of all ages. We provide a full array of gynecological services at both our Nassau University Medical Center practice, most of which are also available close to home in our Family Health Centers. We emphasize preventative health and personal health management through smart choices, self-examination, regular check-ups and screening for breast, ovarian, cervical and other cancers.

 

NuHealth's general gynecologists also help women with all aspects of family planning and pregnancy options. We offer both minimally-invasive tubal ligation and the new, non-surgical Essure sterilization procedure that can be performed in minutes with no hospital stay required. We also provide testing and treatment for sexually-transmitted diseases (STDs).

 

NuHealth is also well-prepared to medically or surgically manage the full spectrum of gynecological disease. Our Colposcopy Center at Nassau University Medical Center is one of the region's most important resources for the evaluation and treatment for abnormal pap smears. And our surgical specialists are expert in such advanced methods as transabdominal and transvaginal surgery, operative laparascopy (minimally invasive surgery), operative hysteroscopy, cryotherapy and the Loop Electrosurgical Excision Procedure (LEEP).
