Nursing is not for everyone. Donna Wilk Cardillo stated “it takes a very strong, intelligent and compassionate person to take on the ills of the world with passion and purpose and work to maintain the health and well-bring of the planet.”

The nursing staff at Nassau University Medical Center is dedicated to providing the highest quality care for their patients and maximizing the health of the communities they serve. NuHealth System nurses provide exceptional, compassionate, respectful care that exceeds patient expectations.

Carol Scotti, Nurse Manager at NuHealth, has been helping people to get better at NuHealth for more than 30 years. For most of those years, she worked as a nurse in the emergency room. In 2001, she became a Nurse Manager in the Outpatient Clinic, and then in 2002 became Nurse Manager in the Telemetry Stroke Unit, where she continues to provide excellent care and knowledge to both fellow nurses and patients. Today she manages some four dozen nurses, clerks and aids within the Telemetry Stroke Unit.

NuHealth System is proud to have Carol Scotti on staff. “I’ve seen a lot of positive things happen since I’ve been here; we’re more patient focused than ever,” says Scotti. “The satisfaction and safety of the people we serve is in the forefront of everyone’s mind.”

NuHealth System is committed to caring for patients and families by creating a positive first impression, anticipating and responding to their needs in an ethical manner, and setting high standards in order to strive to be the best. Nurses at NuHealth take on all these goals and personally hold themselves responsible to reach each one, day in and day out.
